Australian Red Cross are working with federal and state governments, hundreds of volunteers across the country, and millions across the world to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are focused on helping those left most vulnerable, and supporting all Australians to maintain their wellbeing and cope with disruption and uncertainty. To date, Australian Red Cross have supported more than 65,000 Australians with this response. THE FOOTPATH LIBRARY

The Footpath Library is a not-for-profit that distributes new and secondhand books to people experiencing homelessness throughout Sydney, Melbourne & Perth. To help protect these vulnerable folk during this challenging time, FORD MILLINERY “Masks 4 Mates” have also been distributed. “FORD MILLINERY have supplied us with masks for our volunteers and street mates, which means we are able to spend our funds on continuing to provide excellent quality books as well as a cup of coffee or tea, to many vulnerable people who are in need of comfort right now.” said The Footpath Library Founder, Sarah Garnett. “Thank-you to the customers at FORD MILLINERY for helping to keep us and our mates safe!”

MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION

Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, however, COVID-19 has interrupted and postponed the delivery of many wishes. “Whilst wishes are waiting, sadly, childhood illness is not.” said Make-A-Wish CEO, Sally Bateman. Wayside Chapel has provided unconditional love, care and support for people on and around the streets of Kings Cross since 1964. “Thank-you for our latest donation of masks! They were greatly received by staff and visitors  today, as there has been a few outbreaks nearby.” said Una Hanlon of Wayside Chapel. “We have been blown away by the kindness and warmth of the donations, messages of support and goods being donated to keep our community safe and healthy.”

COVID-19 abruptly overshadowed Australia’s horrific bushfire disaster, that impacted an estimated 3-billion animals and destroyed 19-million hectares. Help is still needed.
