Winter Races Outfits: What To Wear For a Style Statement
The winter races are in full swing. Have you figured out what outfit to wear to the event you’re attending? Depending on where you’re celebrating, the weather and dress codes may vary. But one thing remains the same for all events — headwear is a must.
Headpieces, fascinators and hats amp up the fun in dressing up for race events! We mean, how many events encourage you to wear something on your head as part of the dress code? Very few, if you ask us. So take this as an opportunity to pull all the stops to look great from top to toe!
Here’s a guide on how to dress your best for the winter races.
What do you wear to winter races?
Winter provides the best opportunity to layer fashion pieces. Adding a scarf or a coat adds an interesting touch to a look.
In terms of what kind of style, that boils down mainly to two things: what the dress code is in the event place you’re going to and what your personal style is.
What are the colours for winter racing?

The colder months typically call for neutrals, with the addition of jewel tones here and there. But if we’re being honest, we don’t really mind seeing “summer” or “spring” colours in winter! Even patterns and prints that are usually associated with hotter months are good to go, if you ask us. Wearing what you love is our mantra, and we think that’s the best way to feel confident in what you’re wearing.

What shoes to wear to races in winter?
This will, again, depend on which venue you’re going to! Many will ask that you come in with a pair of closed-toe shoes. For the season, though, that is a good idea! Nobody likes the feeling of cold toes anyway. Boots are a good option and very wintry, but more feminine silhouettes will also look classic and great.
Headwear for winter races outfits
You have to complete your look with the right piece of headwear, of course! Accessorise like you mean it.
For winter, forego straw hats and focus on materials that provide not just pizazz but also a bit more warmth such as wool or velvet. Cowboy chic is the style to try for hats this year. Berets are also a great idea!
If you prefer a headpiece or fascinator, go for those with bow or ruffles as embellishments. Bejewelled headbands with veils are also a great choice. You can opt to go for neutrals for these or a brightly coloured one to serve as a focal point for your outfit.
