Sydney Spring Racing Carnival 2024 Dates & Dress Codes
Sydney’s Spring Racing Carnival 2024 is almost here. The series of events hosted by the Australian Turf Club (ATC) ask you to “expect it all.” Excited to join in the fun? Of course, you know we have our priorities lined up and will ask you first: Are your outfits ready? And do they follow the themes or dress codes of the event?
As always, we have your back! Here are the dates and dress codes to take note of for Sydney Everest Carnival 2024.
What are the big races in Sydney?
Sydney holds two major racing seasons: Spring (alongside the majority of the country) and Autumn.
For Spring, the Sydney Everest Carnival is packed with events for celebrating with friends and family and having fun with fashion.
The carnival kicks off with a countdown to the opening of the carnival. On 6 September, The Sydney Everest Carnival Long Lunch will be held to celebrate the season as well as to raise funds for SpinalCure Australia’s research on spinal cord injury cure.
A couple of weeks after the lunch, Sydney Everest Carnival will officially start! Find all the dates you need to take note of below.
Sydney Everest Carnival Calendar
Sydney Surf to Turf Day
21 September 2024
Royal Randwick
From left to right: SUNNA in green (add to cart here), MONICA in hot pink (add to cart here), CUBA in straw (add to cart here)
The start of the Carnival, Sydney Surf to Turf Day will also see the launch of a new destination at ATC, the Peacock Lounge. While there’s no theme for the day, we think it’s the best opportunity to ease into the spirit of dressing up for Spring Racing. Opt for sleek, party-ready options. Think embellished headpieces that fit snugly and straw hats that will keep you protected from the sun’s UV rays while you dance away.
Golden Rose Day
28 September 2024
Rosehill Gardens
From left to right: SACHE (add to cart here), TINKER (add to cart here), AKIRA in gold (add to cart here)
Much like Surf to Turf Day, Golden Rose Day is an opener for the Carnival — but this one’s for formally opening the gates to Rosehill Gardens. No formal theme but we definitely recommend going with the event’s name and adding a touch of gold to your outfit. Headwear is the best and easiest way to do that, of course!
TAB Epsom Day
5 October 2024
Royal Randwick
From left to right: BRIGITTE in pink (add to cart here), ANNA in salt and pepper (add to cart here), BURTON in navy (add to cart here)
One of the biggest race days of the season, TAB Epsom Day is one you should definitely go out and dress up for! ATC promises the day will have the atmosphere of a party, so make sure you have headwear that fits snugly — on top of making you feel and look like a million bucks, of course!
Hill Stakes Day
12 October 2024
Rosehill Gardens
From left to right: KANDA (add to cart here), SPRITZ in green (add to cart here), ANNIE in navy (add to cart here)
It’s all about glamour on Hill Stakes Day! It’s dubbed the social event of the season. So it goes without saying that you have to feel your best! One of the best ways to do that is to wear what you love! Dress just the way you like (while mindful of the club’s dress code) and make sure you have headwear to complete your look with.
TAB Everest Day
19 October 2024
Royal Randwick
From left to right: SYD in blue (add to cart here), IZZY in blue (add to cart here), BLACK WIDOW in navy (add to cart here)
Go all out for the world’s richest race on turf. Don’t hold back on one of Sydney Everest Carnival’s biggest race days — express your unique style from head to toe. Be bold because why not?! The occasion calls for a touch of blue. Steal the show with a headpiece in the colour!
Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day
26 October 2024
Royal Randwick
From left to right: THUMPER in red and pink (add to cart here), POPPY in orange (add to cart here), PARLOUR in hot pink (add to cart here)
Wear your best and grab a bubbly. This day’s all about excitement and fun with friends and family. It’s all about glamour and sophistication. It’s also a great opportunity to have fun with bright colours! We say go for hot pinks and oranges.
Golden Eagle Day
2 November 2024
Rosehill Gardens
From left to right: CAMILLA in gold (add to cart here), AKI in gold (add to cart here), GAGA in gold (add to cart here)
It’s one of the premier racing events of the season in Sydney, so you have to get into the groove. Guests are encouraged to wear something with a touch of gold, in celebration of the occasion. Headwear’s the answer!
The Big Dance on Cup Day
5 November 2024
Royal Randwick
From left to right: ANNIE in red (add to cart here), MIRANDA in white (add to cart here), CARNIVALE in black (add to cart here)
It’s the Big Dance on the biggest race day of the year! It’s the best time to wear your best — from head to toe. Pick something bright or something bold or both! It’s one of the very few occasions where you’re encouraged to really go all out.
Five Diamond Ladies Day
9 November 2024
Rosehill Gardens
From left to right: PALOMA in marigold (add to cart here), FRIDA in red (add to cart here), HEDY (add to cart here)
Elegant and vibrant are the keywords for this event that’s meant to celebrate the ladies. Embrace your femininity and wear pieces that bring out a joyous mood. Pastels are definitely welcome, and so are extra girly silhouettes.
