6 Essentials for Your European Summer Outfits
Got a European summer trip booked? Don’t worry, we’re not too jelly. (Okay, maybe a little.) There’s lots to plan, for sure. But don’t mind us adding one of the most important things to your list: the outfits.
Well, we’re sure you know it already! Your Euro summer wardrobe should be top priority. Not only because you want to look good for photos to share on Instagram and Tiktok but also because you don’t want to feel out of place when you should be comfortable and having fun.
Whether you’re soaking in the sun of the Amalfi coast or enjoying the views of the Normandy countryside, you have to look as cool as you’d like to feel.
Top tips for picking your European summer outfits
It’s easy to go haywire when shopping! (We’re guilty of this too.) But take these into consideration before you swipe your card for that shiny new outfit addition.
Consider your itinerary and the weather
Will you be doing lots of walking around Barcelona? Make sure you have comfy sneakers or sandals. Are you staying at a resort in Greece? Have your swimwear ready.
Once you’ve taken note of the important details, you’ll find it easier to know which items to bring with you.
Your itinerary and the weather will also dictate what kinds of fabrics or materials you should look out for. Ward off the heat with linen and cotton. But keep space for silk if you have a special dinner planned.
Shop your wardrobe
It’s so easy to go overboard with planning for a vacation. You want to go all-out, for sure. We get that! The idea of a vacation seems like an open invitation to just let your inhibitions flee. It gets so easy to just indulge. But here’s your sign to take a pause.
Before you head to the shops, look at what you have in your wardrobe. Chances are you have a piece you’ve been keeping exactly for this occasion. (Been there, done that.)
If you are going to add new items to your Euro summer outfit rotation, try to make sure that it’s evergreen. Pick something that you can re-wear. It’s great to have a piece that’s meant just for the vacation for sentimental reasons, but we also love having pieces we can re-wear again and again and again. You get to remember your holiday whenever you wear that piece! How awesome is that?

Scrambling for where to start? Here are the essentials you need for your trip.
1. Swimwear
You’re trading winter in Australia for a warm beach in Europe, make sure you’re ready to lounge or swim in something you’re one hundred percent confident in. Try wearing bikinis you can mix and match so you don’t need to bring lots but still have variety.
2. Tops
It’s all about breathable fabrics and light colours for tops to include in your European summer outfits. Think cotton, linen and chambray for materials. Butter yellow, beige and white never go out of style. For styles and cuts, go sleeveless for ultimate carefree vibes. But also consider bringing a long-sleeved chambray shirt should the nights get chilly.
3. Bottoms
Shorts and wide-leg pants are the way to go for maximum comfort (with a touch of style). Go for wrinkle-resistant fabrics for pants so you wouldn’t need to think about steaming. Rayon and jersey are lightweight and breathable options. As for shorts, think of comfort but also a little bit of structure. You may want to consider a pleated pair or something that can be dressed up should there be a need to. Skirts are great, too, of course! Bring ones that can take you from day to night (so you can pack light).
4. Dresses
Easy, breezy — those are the two words you need to take note of when choosing dresses to bring with you on holiday. Plus points if they can double up as a swimsuit coverup or if they can be styled to be worn countless times.
5. Shoes
Heels? Only if you can’t walk without them! Otherwise, flats are your besties. There are different styles, of course, so just choose ones that fit your style and complement your outfits best. Ballet shoes, sneakers, sandals — all of these are great options.

6. Accessories
Your first thought would go to jewellery, and that’s valid. They’re great at elevating a look. But hear us out when we say you need headwear at the top of your accessories-to-bring list. They’re not only stylish but also functional. Looking great while having UPF50+ protection sounds like a great idea to us!
